CMC Property Services is partnering with children’s charity, Very Special Kids to raise funds to support families of children with life threatening conditions.
Throughout 2014, CMC will hold a number of fundraising events including a gala ball in partnership with Very Special Kids.
CMC’s Chief Executive Officer, Paul McCann said one of CMC’s key strategic goals has always been to give back to the community.
“This year, to mark our 20th anniversary, we sought to align ourselves with a charity partner whose cause is close to our hearts. We have found this in Very Special Kids,” Paul said.
“We will use every opportunity at hand this year at our various events such as our 20th year anniversary gala ball, family fun days, expos, conferences and our information sessions to promote Very Special Kids.”
“This is the first time we have formally aligned ourselves with a children’s charity and are very excited about a long-term partnership with this organisation that provides amazing support to families in need.”
Very Special Kids is a unique organisation that supports families throughout their experience of caring for children with life-threatening conditions, from diagnosis through to recovery or bereavement.
The services are offered free of charge by a team of professional family support workers and hospice staff, who have backgrounds in social work, psychology, family therapy and nursing. These staff are supported by trained family volunteers.
The organisation has operated Very Special Kids House since 1996, Australia’s first and Victoria’s only children’s hospice, providing planned and emergency respite and end-of-life care.
